An important part of participating in a boarding program is learning how to live in community. The following rights and responsibilities outline the basic expectations for students and staff who are members of this community. Students are expected to respect and follow these basic principles at all times.
Resident Community Rights
The ability to sleep, read and study free from undue interference,unreasonable noise and other distractions.
Personal privacy within the limits of the residence hall living and respect for
personal belongings.
A clean living environment and access to his or her own room and residence hall.
Freedom from harassment, which includes acts of ethnic or racial prejudice, hazing or discrimination for reasons of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender, age or disability.
Assistance and support from the Residence Life Staff
Resident Community Responsibilities
Express understanding of individual rights to fellow residents in a calm and diplomatic manner.
Treat fellow residents and Residence Life Boarding Staff with respect, consideration and consistent cooperation.
Make every effort to understand and comply with ALL High School and Residence Life policies and regulations
Exercise an individual commitment to personal and community security.
Avoid damaging any area within the residence hall including rooms and public spaces.
Give every resident and staff member the personal dignity he/she deserves.
Do your fair share to help keep the living areas (living room, computer room, kitchen and bathrooms) clean.
