Retreats

In keeping with the mission of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and the mission of the school to create a Christian community built on being Christ to one another, each member of our community is required to attend at least one retreat. Retreat dates are as follows:

September 12, 2007 – Peer Ministry Retreat – Benedictine Monastery in Boerne.

September 27–28, 2007 - Senior retreat at Camp Capers

November 20, 2007 - Junior retreat @ Camp Capers

February 15, 2007 - Sophomore & Freshman retreat. Freshman at UIW Marion Hall & Sophmores at St. Mark’s.

The Peer Ministry Retreat begins at 8:00 A.M. IWHS provides transportation to and from Boerne.
The Senior Retreat begins at 4:00 P.M on Thursday and ends at 3:30 on Friday. IWHS provides transportation to and from Camp Capers.
The Junior Retreat begins at 8:00 A.M. and ends at 3:30 P.M. IWHS provides transportation to and from Camp Capers.
The Sophomore and Freshman Retreats begin at 8:00 A.M. IWHS provides transportation to both sites.

Incarnate Word also hosts an annual ACTS retreat. Any IWHS student may sign up for the chance to participate. In an effort to further create community amongst our students, this retreat is open only to IWHS students. The ACTS retreat takes place March 13 – 16, 2008, at Camp Capers in Waring, TX.

Students also have the opportunity to participate in our Eucharistic Ministers training and retreat. They must attend this retreat at Incarnate Word High School to be commissioned a Eucharistic Minister for our community.
