Standardized Testing

PSAT, SAT & Subject Tests, ACT, TSI and AP Dates and Information

PSAT/NMSQT School Day:  October 10, 2018

IWHS will register all students in the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades for testing.  All registration fees are paid on behalf of the students by IWHS.

Testing accommodations must be approved in advance by College Board.  Requests for testing accommodations must be submitted a minimum of seven weeks before your desired testing date.  For more information, please click here.

IWHS will register all students in the 12th grade for testing.  All registration fees are paid on behalf of the students by IWHS.

Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment

 Student who will attend a public institution of higher learning in Texas or major in education in Texas are required to demonstrate mastery of basic skills before entering college by either:  (1) taking a TSI placement test or (2) qualifying for an exemption.  To qualify for an exemption, a student must meet one of the following criteria: 

  • Exemption based on SAT results:
    • Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW) score of 480 or higher; and
    • Mathematics score of 530 or higher
  • Exemption based on ACT results:
    • Composite score of 23 or higher; and
    • Score of 19 or higher in the English and Math tests
