Courses: Latin I, II, III, III Pre-AP, IV; Art Appreciation

Degrees: BA University of Texas San Antonio '11

Born and raised in San Antonio, Michael J. Weil is the youngest of 3 siblings and became an uncle at age 2. He attended St. Anthony Catholic High School (class of 2007) where he was imbued with a love of Latin and language-learning. This deep interest pursued him through college, until he earned a BA in Classics at UTSA in 2011.

After graduating, Michael taught at his high school alma mater for one year before transferring to Incarnate Word. Here he resides currently, teaching Latin levels I, II, III, IV, and Art Appreciation. He also sponsors the Latin Club, a chapter of the National Junior Classical League, as well as the Costume Tech group, which constructs and alters costumes for the IWHS Theatre Company.

Michael’s hobbies include tailoring, drawing, printmaking, and occasionally cooking. In order to further his artistic interests (as talents would be too strong a word), he enrolls in semester classes at the Southwest School of Art. He also enjoys travelling, and has visited Italy, Spain, France, Mexico, Peru, and Canada in addition to many U.S. cities.
