Degrees:
     BS: Northland College '99

MAG: Southwest Texas State Univ. '03

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Dina Marie Zamarripa attended St. Thomas More Catholic School for second through eighth grades and graduated from Incarnate Word High School in 1995.  After making a pact with her high school friends to attend college outside of Texas, Dina Marie ventured to the great north woods and attended Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin where she double majored in Environmental Science-Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

For her master’s degree, she returned to Texas and attended Southwest Texas State University.  Dina Marie earned a MAG in Environmental Studies-Natural Resources in 2003.  Her master’s thesis, titled “The Effects of Urban Development on Recharge of the Edwards Aquifer in San Antonio/Bexar County” investigated changes in the amount of recharge over the Edwards Aquifer due to growing development over the recharge zone during the years 1970 to 2000 when the area was experiencing major population increases.

After working outside of academics for a couple of years, she realized that her real passion was to be in the dynamic classroom.  She began teaching full time again in 2004 and has been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to teach subjects in both of her majors.  In 2008, she returned to her high school alma mater teaching Algebra I, Algebra II Pre-AP, and Environmental Science.
