The Shamrock cross country program begins on August 1st and finishes at the end of October. The team competes in several meets throughout the season, some of them in out-of town locations. The team is comprised of very dedicated athletes and coaches who practice every morning at 5:45 a.m.
Training combines, long-distance road work, hill workouts, interval runs, trail work and occasional track work, which is designed to develop a runner's strength, endurance and speed. One of the team's goals each year is to perform well at the State meet.
