We review each applicant holistically. The criteria below are considered by the admissions team when determining admissions.

International students have been a valued part of the Incarnate Word family for more than 20 years. Students from all over the world have found their home here in our empowering student community. Despite the challenging circumstances we all face now, we welcome you to learn more, engage with us, and apply for admission! Step 1: Submit an Application

Create an account online and fill out the application.

Please note that Firefox and Google Chrome work best for the online application.
Step 2: Submit Required Documents
IWHS requires the following documents to be received for the application to be considered complete. Documents may be uploaded to the online application or submitted via email:
- Copies of official transcripts from the prior 3 years of school, translated into English
- Copy of passport and any visas you hold for the United States
- Confidential Recommendation Form
- Financial Declaration Form
- Bank Statement showing credible evidence of sufficient funds (must be an original document signed by a bank official)
- Immunization Records, translated into English
Step 3: Submit an English Test Score Report
IWHS requires one of the following test scores to be received. Documents may be uploaded to the online application or submitted via email:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
- or Duolingo English Test score report
Step 4: Pay Application Fee

Incoming students are required to submit a non-refundable $100 application fee.
Step 5: Schedule Video Interview

Once your application is complete, our High School International Advisor will contact you to schedule an online video interview. After all documents are received and the interview is completed, the High School International Advisor will send out the student’s I-20 so that the student may apply for their F-1 visa.
Step 6: Find Your New Home

Incarnate Word partners with two CSIET-certified homestay agencies, the American Homestay Network and American Home Life International, to provide safe, loving host families to our international students. Please contact our representatives listed below to get started on finding your new home!

Campus Tour: Schedule Now

Get to know IWHS with an in-person campus tour. In-person tours are a great way for new students and their families to get to know Incarnate Word High School. Campus tours are offered every Wednesday and by appointment only.

What is a shadow day?

A Shadow Day is a visit that allows prospective students (and any high school transfer students) the opportunity to experience a day in the life of an Incarnate Word High School student. Students will be paired with an IWHS student ambassador to explore the IWHS campus, attend classes and lunch, and learn more about all that IWHS has to offer. Drop-off begins at 7:45am and pick-up is at 3:00pm. Parents/guardians and students are invited back to campus at 3:00pm for an optional Q&A session and school tour.
