Transfer Student Application Process

Incarnate Word High School is excited to know that you want to complete your high school journey on our campus. IWHS accepts incoming sophomore, junior, and senior transfer students!

We review each applicant holistically. The criteria below are considered by the admissions team when determining admissions.

Step 1: Submit an Application

Create an account online and fill out the application. Apply for the grade level your child is entering in for the upcoming school year.

Please note that Firefox and Google Chrome work best for the online application.
Step 2: Submit Your Transcripts

Incarnate Word High School will need official copies of your transcripts from the last three years.
Step 3: Submit Your Immunization Record

In compliance with the Texas Department of Health Services, students are asked to submit a complete vaccination record, including proof of the meningitis vaccination.
Step 4: Submit Recommendation Forms (Submitted through applicant portal)

To assist us in evaluating each student’s potential for success, we require applicants to submit TWO Recommendation Forms, (1) English and (1) Math from their current teachers. The Recommendation Forms can be accessed through the applicant portal checklist. Add the teachers email address and press send. IWHS will receive a confirmation once the teacher has submitted the form. The forms are confidential. Applicants are only able to see that the item on the checklist has been completed.
Step 5: Submit Copies of Standardized Test Scores

Please submit copies of Standardized Test Scores.
Step 6: Visit IWHS

While not required, we encourage all students to schedule a visit to Incarnate Word during one of our Shadow Dates, Open Houses or schedule a private tour.
